Thompson Newcomer Settlement Services provides:

• Client intake, assess needs, provide referrals, settlement and adaptation services

• Information and orientation for newcomers to the community of Thompson

• General information on the job market, training programs

• Enrolling children into the school system

• Advocate for newcomers with public and private organizations

• Orientations on topics as Housing, Transportation, Canadian Laws, and child Care

• Referral to English as a Second Language (ESL) Classes

Assistance in obtaining:

• Driver License

• Social Insurance Number

• Manitoba Health Care

• Translation of documents

• Refer to English Classes (EAL)

• Canada Child Tax Benefit

• GST Credit

• Qualification Recognition

• Banking

Access to services, such as:

• Fax, photocopies and telephone

• Help completing forms

• Document translation

• Commissioner for Oaths
